It’s Halloween. I walk the dog, greeting a few neighbors who are out with their youngsters, trick-or-treating. I am filled with memories of walking through the neighborhood with a group of moms, pushing the littlest ones in strollers or pulling them in wagons, as we laughed and visited while the kids ran from house to house.
My kids are too old to trick-or-treat. I’m ok with that, really. I’m not really that into Halloween. It’s just that this year, my oldest is at work, and my younger one is answering the door and handing out candy. It’s a reminder that my children are getting older.
