Reader Laurie from Indiana is reading Rest, and wrote to ask if I have guidelines for the on-line reviews.

Of course, the main thing is that you rave about how wonderful the book is! :) just kidding. I’m really hoping for some honest reviews that point out the strengths of the book, and what questions it raised for you.

I told Laurie, and want all reviewers to know, you can do whatever you like with the review, but hopefully if you liked it, you’ll say that, and tell others why they need to read REST.
you could take a look at the reviews already on christianbook.com to get ideas, but basically, if you liked the book, you should say “I really liked this book because…” and then tell why. then maybe talk about some of the strengths of the book, or things that you learned from it. What type of readers do you think would like the book? Add a sentence to your review along the lines of  “this book would be perfect for …”
If you live near Chicago and have read a review copy of Rest, we’d love to have you attend a luncheon on Dec. 3 in Inverness, where we will discuss the book and also create a video. space if very limited, but if you have already received a galley and posted a review, and are able to come, let me know and we’ll put you on the list.

If you have any questions about how to post a review, just let me know. But you should be able to search for Rest: Living in Sabbath Simplicity (make sure it’s by Keri Wyatt Kent) on either christianbook.com, or barnesandnoble.com, and then click the right buttons to post a review.  (Amazon won’t accept pre-publication reviews, but once the book releases, I’d appreciate if you would cut and paste your review there as well.)

Any questions? Feel free to leave a comment or e-mail me (if you have trouble leaving comments please let me know!!)
